Love, Gratitude and Appreciation
WOULD YOU LIKE MORE LOVE IN YOUR LIFE?
WHAT IF GRATITUDE IS KEY?
LOVE LANGUAGE:
When we focus on Gratitude – we are happy, and it opens our hearts to love and deep appreciation. We can practice thanksgiving every day in a variety of ways. If there is something we have learned in recent times – not taking anything for granted is startlingly appropriate. When we practice Gratitude, we love ourselves, love our lives, love our family and friends, and love the earth. We radiate this love and Gratitude out like an invisible yet measurable energy that others can feel.
There is so much for which to be grateful. Look at the immeasurably fantastic world around us. We can be thankful for the mystery and divine order of all of life – All That Is. First, loving and appreciating ourselves is essential before loving and respecting others. This love then expands to include Nature and all of creation. We have to begin within and then work outwards to others. Taking a deep breath and saying ‘I am full of love’ whenever you catch a reflection of yourself or anytime acknowledges the true love within.
One way we express Gratitude is by giving gifts. By providing others what makes us feel loved, we may be missing what they need to feel loved. We all do this. What if we were to like words of gratitude, little notes of praise in a coat pocket, so we give that to our partner, and the partner indeed doesn't seem to appreciate it, and then we get hurt. What if the partner indeed would be grateful for a foot massage because they feel loved with physical touch?
What if our partner feels love and gratitude with a walk on the beach and uninterrupted quality time together, and a new frying pan causes tears and disappointment? No wonder there is the saying woman are from Venus, and men are from Mars. It is more than that, as we know. All is not lost. Some books and quizzes can help everyone understand what they and their loved ones need to feel loved and appreciated. Sometimes we have adopted others’ love languages because we haven’t explored the choices. The 5 LOVE LANGUAGES quiz is available online. This way, we can all know our own and others' genuine love language.
